About Surah: Al-Ala
087 Al-Ala
This is a Makki Surah and was recited by the Prophet ﷺ in the first unit of Witr prayer. It is named after one of the attributes of Allaah (SWT), Al A’la, the Highest. The beginning verses glorify and describe Allaah (SWT) as the Creator of everything.
Allaah (SWT) took it as His responsibility to have the Qur’an memorized by the Prophet ﷺ. The Qur’an is a reminder that will benefit the one who wants to remember.
The life of the Hereafter is better, even though men prefer the worldly life, and this has been mentioned even in the revelations to Prophets Ibrahim (AS) and Musa (AS).
