090 Al-Balad

This is a Makki Surah, and this surah is named the city, that is Makkah, after which Allaah (SWT) swears to say that man was created in hardship, although he likes to boast of what he has spent to show off among others.

On the Day of Resurrection, the people will be divided into right and left. The people on the right will be those who in this life did righteous acts such as freeing a slave, feeding the poor and advising people to patience and compassion. In contrast, those who rejected the message of Allaah (SWT) will be the people of the left.
