099 Az-Zalzala
This is a Makki Surah, and is named after the earthquakes illustrating the events on the Day of Resurrection.
The earth will be rocked by tremors, and its surface will crack open revealing what’s buried underneath it. Men will be unable to understand the cause of these tremors, but it will be from the commands of Allaah (SWT).
On the Day of Reckoning, people will be separated into groups on the basis of their actions, the pious will be rewarded for the slightest good they may have done, even if it’s as insignificant as a mustard seed. Similarly, the wicked account for the smallest evil they may have committed.
